Clean Water For All!

Bethany is partnering with Globalwater.org to provide awell to the community of Serabu,Sierra Leone. While we have clean water at our finger tips, the people of Serabu are daily walking long distances for water (often contaminated) and dying from dirty water related diseases. A well can cost as little as $5000 or as much as $7000. You can help by sending a check to Bethany and placing GlobalWater.Org in the memo line.

Bethany Church / Open Door Run & Walk Group

Starting on Tuesday, April 30 and for the following seven (7) Tuesdays through June 19, Bethany Church, in conjunction with Open Door Outreach Center, will be hosting a “Couch to 5k” running / walking group. The group will meet each Tuesday evening at 6:15 during this time. Joining this group is FREE!

This is an excellent opportunity to connect with others in the church and throughout the community in an effort to get fit! The goal for many participants will be to run or walk at the Open Door Julie Run at Walled Lake Northern High School on June 22nd! Click HERE for more information!

Our Youth Group is growing. We are having more and more kids come on Wednesday nights

Bethany Book Club Meets April 25th

The Bethany Book Club novel for April is called:  Time Enough for Love by Robert Heinlein, one of Pastor James’ all time favorite novels.  Heinlein’s science fiction novel is about Lazarus Long, the oldest man in the universe.  In the book, Long tells tales about his adventures with love, happiness, and child rearing and shares wisdom gained over 23 centuries of living.  He has had such a long life because of the invention of “organ regeneration machines” that give people in the future a chance to live many lifetimes.

Although the book is lengthy at 605 pages, it is easy to read.  One of the most gripping and poingiant episodes in the book are chapters XI and XII which are called “The Tale of the Adopted Daughter.”  If you are unable to read the whole book, at least read these chapters.  Copies of these chapters are available in the church office.

The Bethany Book Club will meet on a different day in April:  Thursday, April 25, at the home of James & Susan Bolin at 9:15 am. Contact the church office for location details.
